Editing Services by Liz Kazandzhy

In addition to being an author, I’m also a top-rated editor, and I’m currently accepting new projects!

I am a thorough and insightful editor focused on making text clear, concise, and consistent. Along with fixing mechanical errors, I love to help clients improve the flow of their writing so that it’s engaging, impactful, and easy for readers to digest. I specialize in editing nonfiction, especially self-help, religious, and academic content. My ultimate goal as an editor is to make sure nothing distracts the reader from the author’s important message.

I currently work for Cedar Fort Publishing & Media, where I’ve edited and typeset 30+ nonfiction manuscripts. Before that, I edited content for dozens of clients on Upwork, achieving 100% job satisfaction and performing among the top 3% of freelancers on the platform.

How It Works

If this is your first time hiring an editor, no worries! Here’s what you can expect from the process.

1

WE DISCUSS

Send me an email at lizkauthor@gmail.com and tell me all about your project! Include the manuscript, what kind of editing you’re looking for, and what your ultimate goals are for your book. I’ll provide you with a quote for the project.

2

I EDIT

I’ll work my magic, editing your manuscript in the way we decide is best. This will be done through Track Changes in Microsoft Word, so you’ll be able to see every change I make. I’ll also leave comments with explanations, questions, and suggestions.

3

YOU REVIEW

When you get the manuscript back, you’ll be able to review all my changes, accepting or rejecting them. You’ll also have a chance to ask me questions if you find anything unclear.

Why Hire an Editor?

Books are usually published in one of two ways: through self-publishing or through a traditional publisher. In either case, collaborating with a professional editor is vital for the success of your book.

In the case of self-publishing, you’ll want to present the very best product to your readers. An experienced editor can optimize the flow of your ideas, remove errors and inconsistencies that would distract the reader, and align your book with current publishing standards.

In the case of traditional publishing, publishers are much more likely to accept manuscripts that are already in great shape. By presenting your best work—work that has already gone through a thorough editing process—you can significantly increase the chances of your manuscript being accepted.

As an author, I know how important your writing is to you, and I promise to treat it with care. I absolutely love what I do as an editor, and I hope I get a chance to help perfect your precious book!
